Donation transparency facilitated by an enterprise blockchain solution.

Donations are added to the blockchain using a smart contract between heifer and their donors. Every transaction heifer makes using donated funds will update the contract, allowing donors to securely track how their money is spent. Within their view, donors can filter the money spent to see their precise effect on the project. The web application graphic user interface is easily accessible, allowing donors to contribute money and view donation information. Most common varieties of crypto-currency and common standard currencies are available to be donated. Donors are granted access to an admin panel where projects can be added and edited. If donors choose to opt-in to update emails, they will receive an alert when significant project milestones are reached. Additionally, the admin panel can be used to contact Heifer directly to discuss ongoing projects and donations. Within the donor admin panel, individuals can choose to view project, their description, funding progress, and donate using any accepted currency. There is a “Donation History” panel that allows donors to view their previous donations, how their funds have been allocated, and access the blockchain smart contract for each donation. This project will increase the convenience of donations through Heifer’s web app and increase donor trust through transparency using smart contracts.
